heather criswell3It's not a bank you go to if you are in any kind of hurry. The very kind staff and attentive staff are usually bogged down with paperwork and procedure. Often the clerks are busy with customers over the phone and unable to assist with the front counter. There is no "running in" or quick trips through the drive thru as there are no dedicated employees in any position. Aside from the always available branch manager and 2 or 3 overtasked tellers there are just a lot of closed doors and long waits for even the simplest of transactions.

Ruth Arenz1When it was BBT it was a great bank. Now everything is terrible. Poor customer service. Maybe the people in the actual office here are good the Truist part is NoT!

Chad Watkins5I have been banking with this bank for years. Great friendly tellers, Bert was able to help us redeem rewards from our credit card. I have always had a good experience with everyone at the East Ellijay Branch.

Carlos Martínez Oficial1The worst experience I have ever encountered in banks, I have had with BBT. The ATM has problems all the time and the most ridiculous thing I have seen is that when I deposit my OWN cash, it can take up to 3 days to clear. On one occasion I deposited a check and the bank held my check because they weren't sure it was real and the bank charged me a fee of $ 108 for the stupidity they committed themselves. I definitely need another bank branch immediately!

John Murray5I have nothing but the highest marks for Ellijay BB&T. Mike never failed to come out of his office and greet me and any of my family members. He was the absolute best. He was a go to person. Since he is gone and the COVID mess everything has changed. I have needed assistance only a couple times, but Bert has stepped up and in my opinion is carrying on just fine. You, that seemed so dis-satisfied should try some big city banks and you will see how much they care for you.

Joshua Warren1If you check with consumer affairs you will find that this bank; on a national level, makes its money by rearranging credits, and debits in its system in a way that will result in multiple overdraft fees before a charge even finishes posting to your account. BB&T has multiple complaints filed with them through the BBB as well. If the bank cannot rearrange credits, and debits in a way that will overdraft your account, then they will hold your money; also resulting in a overdraft fee. This locations ATM has been has been CLOSED for over a month, and faulty for several months before this. This locations ATM also has taken physical money from me, and "eaten" it, as to which I was forced to go through a process with BB&T to get my money back while they held my funds, and "overdrafted" my account to which there "wasn't enough money" to which the "system can't be overridden" even though the ATM is the reason I didn't have enough money in the first place.

Yvonne Hooper5Very fast and friendly, I would refer this bank to family and friends.

Matt K5You can ignore the comments below this. Bert Long is now the branch leader at this location. You can expect proper customer service now that he is in charge. We will miss you in Dahlonega Bert!

Allen Jensen1Wanted to open new account. Only person who could seemed to have gone home at 1:30pm and were asked to wait 20 minutes more after already waiting 10 minutes (bank was mostly empty). I tried to create account online but after repeated failures, on 4th try, looked like it worked only to get an email saying I had to call some 800 number due to problems. No customer service, people not present at branch during business hours, horrible online system.

Jason Turcyn4Drive-thru ATM was easier to access than the one listed on Google Maps inside the Rite-aid. Also the ATM inside the Rite-aid is no longer a BB&T ATM.
