Total amateur hour. I thought I'd get a credit union account to get away from the mega banks. But after over 20+ phone calls I left. It took forever to get it open because they couldn't figure out how to have separate mailing and physical addresses. Then I called 4 separate times to get checks, which most checking accounts give you a free initial check book to get started. Finally months later I get some for $33 which no one mentioned that fee. Honestly this place was a giant waste of time. Keeping my Wells Fargo account because they can at least do basic tasks painlessly.

I worked with Stacy on a couple loans for an RV and a truck, and she solved every problem, went above and beyond to gather the required information and even dealt with a auto dealer that, apparently, doesn't put customer service high on their list of "must dos". Stacy was a real pleasure to work with and I'm so glad we are members of the Oregonians Credit Union.

Very helpful staff at this CU! I’m currently living in Prineville and I have had to use this credit union as a sister location to make deposits and withdrawals since my credit union is actually three hours away. It’s been very convenient and the family member I currently live with has been using this credit union for quite some time. The staff feels like family and they’re always warm and welcoming and even have appreciation customer days. We have seen them go above and beyond to help us with some of our legal paperwork and even the smaller details of the day today banking that needs to be done. If you want to good local CU, this is the one!

Oregonians has always helped my husband and I with all our banking needs. As well as helping use build our credit scores. Our car loans have been so easy to apply for with low interest rates. Very friendly employees that get to know their members making us feel at home while banking. I'm always greeted with a smile.

I have had nothing but great experience with Oregonians! Specifically the customer service! Beth Karr needs a raise at your earliest convenience! She is polite and able to explain things to me as though I am 5 years old if I ask. She often works after hours to answer my questions with no judgement. (I am sure some of my questions have been elementary). She is always friendly and clearly very dedicated to her work! I would recommend Beth Karr at Oregonians to everyone! She has made our loan process simple and easy and virtually stress free. As someone who has dealt with other banks with terrible customer service and having never financed anything before. I really appreciate the work she has put in to make this experience a good one. Thank You!

They offer a First Time Homebuyer savings account. But for some reason they have a $5,000/year limit that's totally asinine. No other bank/credit union in the state has this limit so if you want to open a First Time Homebuyer savings look elsewhere.

      Response from the owner

Hi Jeff. I'm sorry to hear our First-Time Homebuyer Savings didn't meet your expectations! This account is unlike other generic savings accounts in that it has Oregon state regulations for the tax deduction purposes - this is the reason we limit how much you can save each year in this account. You can certainly save more than the $5,000/year limit (or $10,000 if you file your taxes jointly) with us, the funds would just go into a secondary savings account. As your funds accumulate over the years in your First-Time Homebuyer Savings (you have up to 10 years to make your home purchase), we will continue to pay the higher interest rate that comes with this account on all of your funds in it versus the first "$20,000" - like some of the other First-Time Homebuyer Savings options available at different banking institutions. There are presently six other credit unions/banks that offer this account in Oregon. If you'd like to chat in more details about this account, we're here to help. -Meaghan M. w/Oregonians CU
